The Talent Search Group at PiP is searching for a Language and Literacy Sales Specialist, K-12 (New York City), on behalf of our client, the leading provider of language learning products in K-12 and Higher Education.

Candidates must live in the territory of New York, Richmond, Queens, Kings, Bronx, and Westchester, and be willing to travel throughout the territory without restriction..  Travel is required – up to 50% as needed. 

In this role, you will 

  • Deliver impactful, engaging and customized digital and in-person presentations showing how the company’s solutions help teachers and educators overcome challenges to achieve learning outcomes
  • Develop a strong understanding of a customer’s needs and use a consultative selling approach to achieve sales goals
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key K-12 education professionals and stakeholders
  • Uncover and attend networking and sponsorship events throughout the City to increase contacts and build brand awareness
  • Collaborate with the Contracts and Proposals team to recommend and maintain Product list for submission to NYC DOE Purchasing Portal 
  • Consistently utilize the company CRM (Salesforce) and other tools for effective sales analysis, planning and account management
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the company’s products and programs

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum
  • 1+ years of experience in a consultative sales, account management, or business development role with a successful track record
  • Experience working with or within the NYC Department of Education
  • Familiarity with NYC Shop DOE and the NYC Purchasing process
  • Strong technology orientation and experience presenting and/or doing demonstrations to a variety of audiences in-person and virtually
  • Experience using a CRM to manage sales activities and accounts 
  • A willingness to travel, overnight as needed, within the territory to events, conferences and customer sites

Ideal Skills and Experience

  • Experience using Salesforce.com
  • Experience with publishing, language learning, or modern edtech products
  • Working knowledge of the Spanish language
  • Advanced degree
