Partner in Publishing is searching for a National Sales Manager, Education (US) on behalf of our client, a rapidly growing business offering career education, job preparation and life skills programs for all learners, including those with special needs and at risk.  

The role reports to the President.

The National Sales Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing a talented and enthusiastic sales team to achieve sales goals and oversee the transition from print to digital subscription products. Responsibilities include collaborating with sales team members to develop individualized sales plans with corresponding success targets and strategies; managing the sales team to achieve their goals; optimizing sales analytics as a tool to help develop strategies for sales team to work efficiently and effectively; being aware of and aligning to funding sources; developing sales and product solution strategies to correspond with market needs; keeping up with national educational sales trends; coordinating sales plan, specials and initiatives with the marketing team; and providing outstanding customer service.  

General areas of responsibility include sales and sales team development and oversight; sales planning and reporting; marketing coordination to align with sales goals and initiatives.

The National Sales Manager also actively reviews and analyzes CRM system & RFP Match opportunities.

  • Experience with both traditional and digital subscription sales
  • Research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities 
  • Develop and manage sales budgets in conjunction with the President 
  • Establish Rep territories 
  • Recruit, hire, train new Reps as needed 

Sales Rep Management 

  • Lead nationwide sales team to achieve sales targets 
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of sales team
    • Establish meeting schedule with individual sales team members
    • Ensures Reps are consistently communicating with contacts in their territories
    • Ensure Reps have marketing assets they need with explanations on how to effectively use and implement
  • Pull monthly, quarterly, annual CRM reports to provide information on efficacy of strategies and sales team
    • Analyze reports and provide recommendations for recognizing success and making improvements 
  • Delivers prompt communication to Reps of company updates 


  • Negotiate and close agreements with large customers 
  • Attends appointments as appropriate
  • Network with potential business partners and clients 

Marketing & Conference Coordination

  • Recommend and oversee implementation of marketing materials for sales initiatives & specials (eblasts, flyers, videos, presentations)
  • Develop conference schedule and track ROI 
  • Oversee conference materials as needed
  • Oversee marketing analytics review

Customer Management (CRM) System

  • Optimize CRM to ensure data generated meets the needs of the business and sales team 
  • Oversees input to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare & analyze reports
  • Oversees changes to Rep territories or other architectural changes

RFP Match 

  • Use RFP Match to optimize opportunities 

Necessary Skills and Attributes

Academic/Technical Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree preferred

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5+ years of National Sales experience
  • Experience managing a high performance sales team 
  • 5+ in Education sales preferred 

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • CRM experience (Salesforce preferred)
    • Ability to pull reports and track KPIs
    • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics 
  • Ability to learn new software programs
